Position
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the CFO by performing a wide variety of accounting activities. The primary responsibilities include accounts receivable, cash management, sales/B&O taxes, and property accounting. This position will provide backup for other accounting functions including payroll and accounts payable while also performing special projects as assigned.
Examples of Important and Essential Duties
- Supervise accounts receivable process including billing and collection
- Perform daily and monthly cash management procedures
- Prepare state and city B&O, sales, and use tax returns
- Process journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
- Assist CFO in month/year end closing activities
- Manage property accounting program
Other Job Related Duties
- Serve as primary backup for payroll
- Support accounts payable specialist as needed
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required
Job Related and Essential Qualifications
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Understanding of US GAAP
- Plan and organize work to meet schedules and deadlines
- Work independently in the absence of supervision
- Prepare and maintain accurate and complete records including clear and concise reports
- Attention to detail with ability to multitask
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Dependable, honest with strong work ethic
- Proactive with strong initiative
Education and Experience:
We are open to a variety of levels of education and experience; however, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with 3 or more years experience
- Construction accounting experience preferred but not required
Compensation and Benefits:
Annual Salary: $80,000 to $120,000 DOE
